64 live data layers · 309 catalogued
Every layer LandIQ CR reads to analyse a Costa Rica parcel — government cadastral, satellite, climate, soil, seismic and more.
“Live” means wired up and returning real data today. Everything else is on the roadmap and is not used in your report — we list it so you can see exactly where the line is.
The catalogue
Grouped by category.
Each card lists a representative sample of that category's layers, and where the data actually comes from.
SIRI Cadastral
Parcel registry lookup via SIRI's WMS path (/parcel2) — legal boundary, finca ID, area. The older WFS path (/parcel) is DNS-dead upstream (siri.registronacional.go.cr does not resolve) and is what the app's plano/finca text search still calls; the map-click flow already uses the working replacement.
- Parcel boundary· SIRI WMS (/parcel2)GeoJSON MultiPolygon — verified live 2026-07-17
- Finca number & plano match· SIRI WMS (/parcel2)plano is null for some parcels — a registry gap, not a fetch failure

Soil
5 surface soil properties (0–5 cm depth only) from ISRIC SoilGrids. NOT 7 properties × 7 depth bands as previously advertised — the /soil endpoint has no depth or property selector and hardcodes exactly these 5 fields at one depth. See the file header for the reliability caveat.

CNE Hazards
Volcanic proximity (authoritative — distance to Costa Rica's 5 active volcanic zones) plus flood/landslide hazard flags read from OSM tagging (sparse coverage in CR — indicative only, not CNE's own official hazard-zone maps). Tsunami and storm-surge zones were never wired and are not claimed.

- Flood risk flag· OSM Overpasssparse tagging in CR — indicative only
- Landslide risk flag· OSM Overpasssparse tagging in CR — indicative only
ICE Electrical Grid
National electricity transmission network — substations and transmission lines, from ICE's own public ArcGIS FeatureServer (keyless, anonymous query, verified live 2026-07-18). Split out of the old combined 'ICE & AyA Utilities' coming-category: ICE is real and shipped; AyA (below) is not.
- Substation locations· ICE ArcGIS FeatureServer
- Transmission line network· ICE ArcGIS FeatureServer
AyA Water Utilities
Water main coverage from Costa Rica's water utility (AyA). No public endpoint found as of 2026-07-18 — only a login-gated (HTTP 403) ArcGIS service and a decade-old academic-paper-cited geoserver IP that's now unreachable. Not buildable without a direct data-sharing conversation with AyA.
- Water main coverage· AyAno public endpoint found — see header note
Hydrology (HydroSHEDS)
River network with Strahler stream order, from HydroSHEDS (WWF/USGS) — a self-hosted Costa Rica extract (9,180 segments, clipped from the North/Central America HydroRIVERS shapefile), not a live government API. No ongoing external dependency. Split out of the old 'Water Resources (derived)' coming-category: watershed/stream-order is real and shipped; flood-plain modeling and groundwater potential (below) are not — they need actual hydraulic/hydrogeological modeling, not just this dataset.

- Stream order classification (Strahler)· HydroSHEDS HydroRIVERS
Hacienda Taxpayer Status
Ministerio de Hacienda's real, public e-invoicing (Facturación Electrónica) API returns taxpayer registration status and economic activity for a cédula — NOT property tax or title status. Renamed from 'Hacienda Tax & Title Status' after confirming the only real Hacienda endpoint has nothing to do with title or property tax; that data lives at Registro Nacional, which has no public API. Building this as originally scoped/named would have been a false claim on a paid report — do not label it 'title status' if it ships.
- Taxpayer registration status· api.hacienda.go.cr (real, documented, unwired)cédula/taxpayer lookup only — not title, not property tax
FONAFIFO — Forest Payments (PSA)
Pagos por Servicios Ambientales eligibility and active contract areas. FONAFIFO is a registered SNIT node, but its geoservice is confirmed down at the source (a MINAE-side infrastructure outage, not something fixable on our end) — re-check periodically rather than build against it now. 'Biological corridor network,' previously listed here, is dropped — it's already live under SNIT IGN + PNE Vector Layers (SIREFOR/MINAE PNE's bio-corridors typeName).
- PSA eligibility zone· FONAFIFOsource node down as of 2026-07-18
- Active PSA contract areas· FONAFIFOsource node down as of 2026-07-18
Water Resources (derived)
Genuine hydraulic/hydrogeological modeling — not covered by the HydroSHEDS data now shipped above (see Hydrology category). These need an actual flood model or groundwater survey, not just a dataset to host.
